Today I would like to tell you about the wedding of a splendid Genoese couple, Azzurra and Riccardo, celebrated on 26 May in the suggestive Villa Ottolenghi in Acqui Terme.
The wedding was not only delicious vegan menu created by chef Emanuele Di Biase who came directly from Umbria, but every detail has been taken care of great attention to the environment and nature and every choice made by the spouses was always with a view to eco-sustainability and respect for every living creature.
Furthermore, Azzurra and Riccardo are passionate about Japanese history and culture and therefore wanted this as the theme of their wedding. Organizing such an important and special wedding in just four months was a real challenge for me, In fact, I only met the couple in January and they had already set not only the date but also the time: il 26 May at 17. Their wish was to get married surrounded by greenery, lower Piedmont, so I immediately started looking for the ideal location to welcome him. After finding Villa Ottolenghi, an elegant historic residence built in the first half of the 20th century on the hills of Acqui Terme, I immediately started organizing the event.
The participations were designed together with Cartadanza with origami paper and recycled paper, they had the function not only of communicating the date of the wedding but also of anticipating the mood of the event and let guests know that there would be gods very fun games in full Japanese style.
After the celebration of the wedding in a civil ceremony, in which the bride wore a wonderful kimono revisited by the seamstress completed by a very original bouquet of paper flowers, the couple received the blessing of the family friar; an intense moment, very heartfelt by the spouses and all the participants.
After the ceremony an aperitif was offered, also themed. In fact, to immerse yourself even more in the Japanese atmosphere we have set up a sort of small museum both with very special objects owned by the bride such as a precious 17th century armor and an original kimono and others created by my staff such as an arch of themed balloons for taking Polaroid photos, suggestive Japanese red lanterns and the installation of colored paper flowers.
During dinner, between one course and another, we inserted a “team tournament” who took part in challenges of Japanese quiz, play station and board games. The goal was to get everyone to play, young and old, and I'm happy to say that this was exactly the case: dinner was a truly special moment, not only for the very high quality of the products and the vegan menu prepared by chef Di Biase but also for the moments of joy and happiness during the games.
Precisely for the respect of nature and all living beings floral decorations had to be created strictly without cut flowers, therefore with only plants, we therefore chose wonderful white hydrangeas and roses, ferns and maples. As a centerpiece for dinner, a splendid bonsai with a vase with Japanese idioms could not be missing.
The ceremony booklets they had as a reminder a romantic cherry blossom and also the wedding table made with colored Japanese paper fans, they reflected the Japanese theme, the latter also made by Cartadanza.
For the cake moment (really delicious!) the atmosphere was magical… we have in fact illuminated with thousands of lights both the tensile structure that we had to create for outdoor dining and the large tree behind the cake point, we also created a long tunnel of lights beyond 30 meters that connected the dinner area to the aperitif/cake area.
Finally, high-level entertainment could not be missing with a fantastic band and then with a DJ and vocalist who really made everyone dance!
And the wedding favor? excellent sake obviously!
